You can get the same tool with lots more accessories for about $1 more elsewhere on Amazon, February 22, 2011

Customer Video Review Length:: 1:49 MinsThe tool works great. However, there are other bundles with this same tool on Amazon that my be a better value. For a little more you get the same rotary tool plus two (nice) medium sized spring clamps (Black & Decker RTX-6 2 Amp 3-Speed Rotary Tool with 30 Accessories and 2 Spring Clamps) and more accessories. Either way, you get the same excellent tool. I just thing the other choice is a much better value.I’ve added my video review of “the better valued version” to this review. Besides showing the additional accessories it provides information about some great features of the tool and a sound comparison between the Dremel 1100-01 Stylus 7.2-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Rotary Tool with Docking Station (by itself) and the Black & Decker rotary tool when connected with to a Milescraft 1003 Flex Shaft for Rotary Tools. Finally, one additional accessory I’ve found *very* handy, especially if you’re using the Flex Shaft is a Proxxon 38700 Foot Switch FS. There are other foot switches that include a variable speed option. That might be a good thing for some and in my experience it does not add much value and only is something more that can easily break. BTW, I feel that honest, effective reviews, accompanied by detailed videos, can take the place of first-hand experiences that are often lacking in online shopping. I’ve always appreciated the help I’ve received from other reviewers and try to return the favor as best as I can. I hope you found this review helpful and the video at least entertaining. If there was anything you thought was lacking or unclear leave a comment and I’ll do what I can to fix it.

Black & Decker is back!, July 5, 2010

Let me say for starters that I haven’t been a big Black/Decker fan for a long time(Black and Decker quit making tough power tools around 1990-1991).If I wanted a power drill currently….I’d buy a expensive/sturdy drill.Secondly,I’ve used Dremel 395 models for a long time, yes I’ve found them to be expensive but they do the job.So what could be better than a Dremel tool?A Black & Decker RTX-these are twice the motor power of a Dremel Tool, very well designed and comfortable to use(has a very nice rubber grip for extensive handling options during use),has a universal collet to except a massive range of dremel and aftermarket accessories(including a threaded section for the Flex Shaft),and a cool Flip Lock system to making changing bits a one-handed operation.Did I mention the RTX is half the price of a Dremel Tool. This tool is huge competition against Dremel, and my hopes for the RTX model is that it will become a main staple by Black/Decker and more advanced models will be released years down the road.Get a B&D RTX and save yourself some money :)
